Waded more than waist deep into a freezing cold river 20 miles into the days hike to get this shot and it was well worth it.

Diamond Ring

Total Solar Eclipse! This was an awe inspiring moment to witness. In a matter of seconds it went from being bright and sunny to dark. What looked like a 360 degree sunset around us appeared when the sky went dark. It is hard to express the feeling of awe and amazement that event caused. I had been planning this shot for almost a year and I am thrilled with how it turned out. Taken in Cascade Idaho

Fort Ross Barn

An old abandoned barn at Fort Ross State Historic Park. When hiking with my family, I had seen this barn off in the distance but everyone always wanted to explore the fort. So, eventually I just came back by myself and hiked to it. What a cool place! Could not have asked for a better day to photograph it given the fog made it even more dramatic

A pilot guides his glider along the coastline to maximize lift off of the winds that rise up the cliffs. Pilots can often stay aloft nearly indefinitely here at Bodega bay given the consistency of the winds
