One of my most memorable camping trips. I stayed up until 4AM on the shore of Jenny Lake. The colors were absolutely awesome. This was during summer solstice and I had been planning this shot for months. GTNP has some of the clearest skies in North America. Sumer solstice is fantastic for astrophotographers because it is when the bright galactic center of the Milky Way is highest above the horizon. Couple that with a set and dark moon and the stars are absolutely brilliant.
I had been wanting to photograph this bridge ever since I moved to Idaho. After four years, the opportunity arose when a couple of my friends and I went out on an adventure and this was one of our stops. Took me about an hour to hike back up to the car after sliding down the cliff through the snow and I was feeling. The snow was so deep that I was basically swimming through it. However, I think it was worth it. Definitely a memorable event
